Theories
and Predictions
Predictions
of rising pollution levels pose real problems for the town gardens
of the future.
Air, water
and soil pollution would be paramount - at unbearable levels
for all life.
In this appocalyptic
future many plants will not be able to survive, those that do will
diminish to low lying forms that have adapted to gather any moisture
which comes within their reach, photosynthesising at night for less
stress.
However,
in a man-made, controlled
environment where the plants needs are catered for without
external influence, it may be possible to sustain plant life and hence
our own.
It is this
vision that leads to the deduction that the whole garden would have
to be enclosed in a BIOME. Any
light, water and air entering this environment would be carefully
monitored, filtered and
distributed throughout the structure.
