Thank You

A number of courses were involved in preparing and creating the BIOME, we would like to thank all the students involved for their help, enthusiasm and hard work:

NVQ Level One and Two Horticulture

Students on this course have been involved with maintaining plants used in the BIOME Dome, and involved in the construction of the feature itself.

Gardening for Interest

Mature students on this course grew plants for the BIOME Dome, as well as donating plants from their own gardens. They were also involved in the construction and manning of the feature at the NEC.

NVQ/OCN Floristry

The Floristry students helped in the design of features within the dome, looking at the colour, texture and contrast between the plants and materials used. The Students were also involved in the planting of the dome.

BTEC National Media Studies

These students were involved with the setting up of the VDU display screens, and display materials. They also made a video record of the construction of the dome from start to finish as well as acting in 'role-play' scenes incorporated into the slide show.

OCN Metal Working

These students created the various scultures and features used within the BIOME.

EDEXCEL Working Together

Students with additional learning needs from local community day centres were involved in the planning and execution of features used within the dome.
