Water Supply

Theatrical water filtering featureThe increase in ground water pollution and acid rain will mean that there is a strong need for the provision of a self-contained, recycling, water supply.

The filtering of water will be a significant factor in this scenario. A major visual feature in the BIOME was the water filtration system.

The water was being pumped from a seemingly contaminated tank, into a filtering process and from there ran into a central channel feeding the needs of the plants within the BIOME.

Theatrical

One of the purposes of the BIOME was to make the visitor think about what we have NOW.

clean water pumped from within dirty waterWhile the display was largely theatrical (the water was actually clean water within a "contaminated" tank, creating an optical illusion of the filtering process), the concepts behind the idea are perfectly feasible, and would be vital should our apocalyptic vision of the future be allowed to happen!

Our ecosystems are fragile .... this IS the future - BEWARE!
