Our Students Say:

Forensic science is a very interesting subject, it has been a subject that I have wanted to learn about since school. Studying this course at the college has made it very enjoyable. I thought this course would be very serious and full of theory work, but it is the total opposite! The assignments consist of creating criminal profiles, posters and time lines. The practical is very good - like fingerprinting and blood analysis. There are trips to London and visits to the Old Bailey (which was very interesting). The teachers are very nice and helpful, so you're never alone if you get stuck with work. All I say is that you must be determined with this course because it can be tough with assignments, but the feeling of achieving the high grades mean it is definitely worth it!

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in science and would like to know what being a crime scene investigator is really like. You will do a mixture of theory and practical work which is brought together with a staged crime scene. There are also trips to London and universities. You also learn about car crash investigation, forensic photography, and criminology which will get you ready for a degree course at university

In all of my school years put together, the two years studying Forensic science were the best years. Even though at times it gets difficult with keeping up the assignments, our tutors still always seemed to include some fun in the lessons. There is a lot to learn, from how a criminal thinks, to how a crime scene is investigated. This course is not only sitting in the classroom, tutors also organise trips that relate to the topics taught - for example trips to the Old Bailey and the Natural History Museum in London.
