The A Level Programme
A levels are nationally recognised qualifications. As a successful A level student you will have a qualification that is highly regarded by both employers and Higher Education institutions.
We have an excellent record in our A level courses at the College.
Approximately 75% of our A level students go on to Higher Education. We aim to offer you the subject combination that best suits your plans for Higher Education or career.
At college, even though we are a large institution, everyone is an individual and you will be offered guidance to help you make the choice that is right for you.
A Level qualifications
In the first year of study students generally take three or four AS subjects.
If you have not passed GCSE English Language or GCSE Maths you will need to retake.
You will take three AS subjects plus the GCSE.You will have a restricted range of AS subjects to choose from.
In the second year students usually continue to study three subjects in depth to gain full A level qualifications.
The fourth subject gains university points and is recognised as "half" an A level.
