How is A Level different from GCSE?
At A level you study three or four subjects in depth. You are shown how to analyse, evaluate and put forward points of view based on evidence.
You are encouraged to make connections between areas of your learning and apply your skills to solve a range of problems.
A Level involves more opportunities to use your knowledge, rather than simply memorising facts or describing things.
AS level marks a halfway stage where you will have a wide knowledge of facts but can also start to offer some analysis.
You will be expected to do some of the routine work of making notes and preparing topics outside of the actual class time, so that lessons can be spent more effectively on using and applying your knowledge to solve problems.
