BTEC Level 2 Certificate in IT
This is a practical work-related course with assignments based on realistic workplace situations.
It will provide you with the skills required to communicate using a variety of software tools, understand what characteristics are valued by employers in the IT industry and the common job roles undertaken by people working in the IT industry.
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at least grade D, any other ICT related level 1 qualification as well as previous experience with IT.
Students need to be confident in using a range of business software.
Course Content
On this course you will study 3 units:
- Communicating in the IT Industry
You will learn how to use IT software to communicate and exchange information safely, securely and effectively. You will also consider the impacts of IT. - Working in the IT industry
You will learn what characteristics are valued by employers and the common job roles undertaken by people working in the IT industry - Website project
You will learn the fundamental concepts of project planning by planning, implementing and reviewing an IT project in a real-world scenario.
For the project you will create, design and publish a multiple page website for a local company or organisation.
Method of Assessment
The BTEC Level 2 Certificate in IT is assessed through course work.
