Foreign Languages (Wednesday afternoon)

Studying a language will certainly enhance your career opportunities and will give you the confidence to travel independently. You may even consider living or working abroad in the future. All the language courses lead to a Certificate in Business language Competence (CBLC). The emphasis will be on practical, oral communication. Various languages are available, as well as GCSE, for non beginners.

French or Spanish
These foreign language courses are designed to offer students the opportunity to study the French or Spanish language and develop all four language skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Students will be able to communicate at home or abroad to French or Spanish speaking people and will have an understanding of the culture of countries where French or Spanish is spoken. The languages are studied within a range of personal, social, and work related contexts. The courses allow students to progress either directly to employment, or to study for an Advanced level qualification.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at least grade D including grade D or E in the relevant language. Other foreign language qualifications will also be considered.
