Are you interested in pursuing a career as within the medical industry or gaining a degree in Science? If so, this course is suitable for you. The course is designed for those who have a lively and enquiring mind, have an enthusiasm for new ideas and concepts and want to make a difference.

The biomedical Science route brings an insight into the amazing molecular workings of your body, how each system interacts to keep you alive and the pathological consequences of it going wrong.

As you progress on the course you will find that your knowledge and understanding of Science is enhanced and that you gain confidence in your own abilities through the practical aspects of the course. If you are considering future employment in a related field or progression to higher education then you will find that how you communicate and work within a team are extremely important skills to acquire. There is also a keen emphasis placed on how you work independently.

The course opens up a range of career opportunities in the biomedical industries, medical laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry. You will develop the analytical, evaluative and technical skills to work within a wide range of scientific industries or to be able to progress to Higher Education.

Throughout the course you will be assessed through observation of practical sessions, written assignments, presentations, assignments and written exams.

Completion of the qualification will enable you to : Pursue a career in a Science or health related field. Progress on to higher education, employment or apprenticeship.

What are the Entry Requirements?

Five or more GCSEs at Grade C including English and maths (specified at higher grades depending on individual subject choices)
