Is this the right course for me?

If you want to study for an HNC in Mechanical Engineering but lack the necessary maths qualification (A Level maths or BTEC Level 3 maths) this ‘bridging’ course will give you the skills you need to enrol on the course.

*This course is standardly a one-year part-time course delivered over one evening per week, however it is also being offered as a 12-week intensive course on Friday afternoons, 12.30pm-4.30pm, starting on June 24 2016.

  • Advanced Maths and principles in preparation for HNC in Engineering
  • Algebra
  • Trigonometry
  • Factorisation
  • Integration
  • Logarithms
  • Graphs
  • Calculus
  • Transposition

The course will give you an understanding of applied maths used in a range of scenarios in an engineering environment.

Throughout the course you will be assessed in the following ways:

Completion of the course will enable you to enrol on the HNC in Mechanical Engineering.

What are the Entry Requirements?

To access the course you are required to have:

  • A basic understanding of engineering
  • GCSE maths
  • BTEC Level 2 qualification in engineering OR
  • City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
