You will learn how to keep your car running during the winter months and keep it safely on the road for the rest of year.

What will I learn?

During the course you will learn the following:

  • Tyres
  • Changing Wheels
  • Safely jacking the car
  • Checking fluid levels
  • Changing wiper blades
  • Changing bulbs
  • Brakes
  • Exhausts

What skills will I gain?

By studying this course you will:

  • Develop your understanding of basic maintenance skills to help keep your car running, without having to pay costly tradesmen
  • Learn what you can do – and when to call in the professionals
  • Develop your confidence in dealing with car maintenance jobs

How will I be assessed?

You will be continually assessed throughout the programme. On completion of the course you will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a City of Wolverhampton tool kit to help you do those maintenance jobs on your car.

What can I do next?

If you decide that you’d like a career in the motor vehicle industry, completion of the course will enable you to progress to longer accredited course offered by the college – such as vehicle servicing and repair. Or you may wish to move onto our GIRLS CAN TOO ... maintain your home course.

What are the Entry Requirements?

This is a women-only course. There are no entry requirements – you just need to be interested in saving money by maintaining your car yourself.
