Is this the right course for me?

If you are looking to take the next step in your career and move into a management role, this short part-time course – a module from the HNC/D in Business syllabus – will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of different administrative functions and roles needed to organise a range of activities and events.

We have excellent feedback from our past students, many of who have gone on to university to study full degrees in subjects such as business, business management, law, accountancy, marketing or human resource management, whilst others have become entrepreneurs and set up their own businesses.

Completion of the module will enable you to:

  • Effectively administer an event or project
  • Organise teamwork when managing an event or project
  • Use a range of business communication systems to manage the event or project

By studying this module you will:

  • Develop your knowledge and understanding of businesses by examining administrative functions within organisations
  • Learn how to prepare and coordinate operational plans
  • Gain an understanding of how to managing your time effectively and develop yourself to meet the needs of the organisation
  • Understand the responsibilities of key people in helping the organisation to meet its objectives
  • • Learn how to manage events or activities • Investigate and participate in the running an event in which you will take a major role

    How will I be assessed?

  • This is an assignment-based course and there are no exams.
  • You will be continually assessed throughout the course via assignments and the production of a detailed portfolio
  • What can I do next?

    Completion of the module will enable you to:

  • Use the skills you have gained in the workplace
  • Continue with further study and progress to the HNC/D in business
  • What are the Entry Requirements?

    As this module is part of an HNC/D qualification, you are required to be over 18 years of age and have the following qualifications:

    • One A Level - preferably one in Business OR
    • BTec certificate or diploma in Business

    - Mature students will be considered in light of relevant work/life experience

    - Non-EU students are required to have an IELTS or equivalent university qualification
