Certificate in Floristry (QCF) Level 2 - (Floristry Level 2 Certificate)

This is an exciting new course that we are offering for the very first time this year held in the idyllic setting of The Cedars Horticultural Centre.

The course will be one day a week, on a Friday for two terms and is ideal for anyone wishing to change their career or start out in the floristry industry as a junior or trainee florist.

Entry Requirements

No academic qualifications are needed to enrol on the course, however you will be required to attend an informal interview and complete an initial diagnostic test and you will need to demonstrate that you are working at level 2 for literacy.

Course Content

You will cover a range of topics including colour and the elements and principles of design linked to floristry and over the weeks you will produce a range of basic floristry designs including novelty designs for bridesmaids, and both traditional and contemporary arrangements.

You will be expected to produce a neatly presented note folder as well as a separate assessment folder, which will contain practical assessment evidence and written assignments that you have created for each unit.

How will I be assessed?

There is an online examination for one unit relating to the elements and principles of floral design and colour.

What can I do next?

On successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate, you can progress with us on to additional units to build up a full level 2 Floristry Diploma or look at other course options.

Additional costs

You will need to purchase a basic tool kit which includes floristry scissors and a knife, as well as an overall and a camera to take photographs of your practical work.

In addition you will need to buy flowers and foliage for each session and presentation folders for assignment work.
