Cert in the Principles of Garden PEM L2 - (Horticulture: RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Garden Planning, Establishment and Maintenance)
This is a one year course studied over 2 ½ hours per week at the Cedars Horticulture Centre.
Learners who successfully complete this qualification and go on to complete the RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth, Propagation and Development will have gained the required units for the RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have an interest and enthusiasm for plants and gardening and demonstrate the ability to write fluently at Level 2. Applicants will be asked to attend a short informal interview and undertake an initial assessment in literacy.
Course Content
This qualification consists of four units covering the following subjects
- Understanding garden features, plant selection and planning
- Understanding the choice, establishment and maintenance of garden plants and lawns
- Understanding the production of outdoor vegetables and fruit
- Understanding protected environments and their use in plant cultivation
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through externally set and marked written exams sat in June
