Apprenticeships
City of Wolverhampton College works with many employers in the West Midlands and other areas of the UK, in over 20 different industry sectors ranging from hairdressing to engineering. The college is well equipped to assist employers in their needs
Introducing Apprenticeships into an organisation can help employers to motivate staff, increase productivity and boost their workforce’s confidence, giving them the skills they need to adapt to change in an increasingly challenging business world.
Apprenticeships consist of three main areas of learning which are:
- A qualification delivered in the workplace (NVQ)
- An industry certificate delivered one day a week at college*
- Work related maths and english qualifications
To be eligible to undertake an Apprenticeship, employees need to be over 16 years old and working on a permanent contract for over 16.5 hours every week in a relevant industry.
In today’s challenging times, employers are looking increasingly to Apprenticeships to help train new recruits as well as introduce new skills to established staff to equip them to manage changes within the workplace.
