ACCOUNTANCY
Why take on an Apprentice?
As an industry, financial services will always be vital to the success of the UK economy and it relies on talented, skilled people. You need staff with the right skills to suit your particular business requirements and the inspiration to provide a real and relevant contribution.
That’s where the Apprenticeship programme can help.
Apprentices learn on the job, working alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job Apprentices receive training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
Research has highlighted that employers offer Apprenticeship places because they understand the benefits that Apprentices bring to their business - increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a committed and competent workforce.
The IFS School of Finance fully supports the development of Apprenticeships in the Financial Services industry. Apprenticeships combine recognised, professional qualifications with practical experience that allows participants to apply this learning to real life scenarios.
As a result, they enable employers to ensure that their current and future workforces are sufficiently equipped with the appropriate skills, knowledge and understanding.
The Apprenticeship Programme
Apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job, on a day-release basis, apprentices receive training at the college to work towards nationally recognised qualifications and receive tuition in areas such as:
- Basic Accounting
- Basic Costing
- Computerised Accounts
Apprentices will also take the AAT qualification relevant to their Apprenticeship level.
