MARKETING
Why take on an Apprentice?
In today’s competitive world, you need to ensure you stand out from the rest – and that’s where marketing comes in.
Marketing and communications is central to the success of any business; but often it’s the first department to have budgets cut when times get tough.
That’s where City of Wolverhampton College can help.
Our new Apprenticeship in Marketing and Communications means you can ensure you have staff with the right skills to sell your business, without the high costs of training.
From Event Management Assistants and Market Researchers, to PA’s and Public Relations Officers, the programme will suit anyone working in a marketing environment.
Apprentices learn on the job, working alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job Apprentices receive training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
Research has highlighted that employers offer Apprenticeship places because they understand the benefits that Apprentices bring to their business - increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a committed and competent workforce.
The Apprenticeship Programme
The Marketing Apprenticeship is a flexible programme that accommodates many varied marketing roles, with Apprentice and employer choosing the majority of the units to ensure that the programme is relevant to the job role.
The Apprenticeship is made up from three elements:
- ISMM Certificate in Sales and Marketing Level 2
- City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 in Marketing
- Key Skills in Application of Number, Communication and IT
The Certificate in Sales and Marketing consists of two units: The Customer Focused Organisation and Selling in a Customer Focused Organisation. The NVQ has a variety of units which the Apprentice and employer can choose from, including implementing marketing strategies and plans for products/services, analysing market research data and establishing requirements for products/services and the legal, regulatory and ethical requirements impacting upon marketing activity.
