City of Wolverhampton College continuously invests in new technology to ensure its training facilities remain state-of-the-art and in line with industry.

We have 6 campuses, each housing their own specialist areas:

Paget Road Campus

Our Paget Road Campus, located to the east of the city centre, specializes in the following areas:

  • Business, Administration & Management
  • Creative Arts
  • Engineering
  • Health & Social Care
  • Information Technology & Computing
  • Motor Vehicle

It also plays a large part of our Citysixth base, our college sixth form, having over 1000 16-18 year olds studying here every day combining traditional A Levels, Diplomas and technical vocational subjects.

The campus is also home to our Media Centre of Vocational Excellence, a state-of-the-art centre, boasting high quality technical facilities for training in journalism, media, music, television, multi-media, animation and photography. The centre offers a unique opportunity to get involved in professional media production projects.

Wellington Road Campus

Our Wellington Road Campus, in Bilston, is the base for:

  • Construction
  • Child Studies
  • Electrical Installation
  • Information Technology
  • Leisure, Sport and Spa

The campus opened in 2001 as part of a £15 million investment programme and has fantastic facilities. In 2009 the Construction Innovation Centre opened, followed by the Community Sports Centre and Spa Academy, all boasting fantastic facilities including a 3G floodlit football pitch, spa therapy rooms, a gas training and assessment centre and purpose built areas for practical work in plumbing and decorating.

Metro One Campus

Our Metro One Campus, located in the heart of the city, offers a unique learning environment for:

  • Catering
  • Hair & Beauty
  • Travel & Tourism

The campus, part of the £8 million City Learning Quarter, has some of the latest industry equipment and provides a truly inspirational learning environment. Facilities include state-of-the-art hair and beauty salons, a travel agency run by students and supported by Co-op Travel and a culinary classroom, The Academy Restaurant, all of which are open to the public.

Newhampton Centre

Our Newhampton Centre campus, located close to Wolverhampton Wanderers football ground, is a creative space for Performing Arts activities in Wolverhampton and the West Midlands. The extensive facilities include music and rehearsal studios, a dance hall and WCR FM, Wolverhampton's City Radio station.

Telford Campus

City of Wolverhampton College’s new Telford Campus is situated at Trevithick House, on Stafford Park, just a five minute drive from Junction 4 of the M54 and less than one mile from Telford train station.

In May 2009 the college invested over £300,000 transforming premises into a new state-of-the-art learning centre, which is home to:

  • Polymer Training & Innovation Centre (PTIC) - a specialist training centre for the UK polymer industry which includes a wide range of specialist machinery and is used by companies across the country.
  • Lean Academy
  • The Salon, Telford - a hi-tech hairdressing training facility for apprentices, with space for 16 clients, where students provide a fully professional hairdressing service under the expert supervision of fully-trained staff.

It is also used as a base for Prince’s Trust and the Pathways to Apprenticeship programmes.

The Cedars Horticultural Centre

The Cedars Horticultural Centre in Wolverhampton has been offering courses for over 40 years, and each year more than 550 students pass through its doors to enjoy the wide range of qualifications available. Offering many options for people who want to work in harmony with nature, whether with flowers or with the land, the idyllic woodland setting is only a mile out of the city centre.

The Cedars provides the perfect setting for budding horticulturalists and florists to learn their trade. The two and a quarter acre site, right on the city's doorstep, offers an oasis of calm for those looking to escape busy, modern life, and is home to mature landscaped beds and borders, a range of mature and semi-mature trees, vegetable allotments, a wildlife area, a mini-orchard, 100ft glasshouse, a newly-built log cabin and Floristry Shop.

Our Training Salons

The college trains over 300 Hairdressing Apprentices every year across our three hairdressing training salons in the West Midlands:

  • The Salon, Telford
  • The Salon, King Street, Wolverhampton
  • Hair Training Academy, Worcester

The salons offer hi-tech training facilities where students provide a fully professional hairdressing service under the expert supervision of fully-trained staff.
