Futures High Needs – John Muir Award programme
This course is for young people on a Futures High Needs programme who enjoy outdoor activities.
The John Muir Award enables young people to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places and they will get the chance to work alongside conservationists at Kinver Edge – a local beauty spot – so as well as learning new skills they will also be gaining valuable work experience.
The programme also covers:

- – Interpersonal skills
- – Employability skills
- – Team building
- – Citizenship
- – English, maths and ICT skills
On completing the course the young person will gain the John Muir Award, as well as a Level 1 qualification in employability and personal development.
There are no specific entry requirements for the course, however applicants will need to attend an interview and complete an online diagnostic test to demonstrate that they are working at English Entry Level 3.
