Want to be a Governor?

What it Involves

The role involves a commitment of approximately 5 Board meetings a year plus an involvement in a Committee.

Meetings are generally held in the evenings with occasional daytime attendance at College events. Induction and training support will be available to all new governors.

We aim to establish a database of people interested in becoming a governor when vacancies arise. If you feel that you could contribute to the College's continuing success, we would like to hear from you.

The College is deeply committed to equality of opportunity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

For an information pack and application form please contact:
Sarah Meddings, Clerk to the Governors, at the College.

City of Wolverhampton College is keen to hear from local people interested in becoming a member of its Board of Governors.

The College attracts over 3,500 full-time and 10,000 part-time students each year.  With an annual turnover of approximately £40m it is one of the largest employers in the area and plays an important part in the local economy. The Board needs members who can bring a variety of skills, experience and knowledge to the College in this rewarding role.

No formal qualification is necessary, just an enthusiasm to work in a voluntary capacity alongside other Board members helping to ensure that the College continues to meet the needs of the community it serves.
