Capriena Linton - Butterflies Boutique

Capriena Linton

When Capriena Linton embarked on her Level 1 Hairdressing course at City of Wolverhampton College she dreamed of owning her own salon, and just a few years later she opened Butterflies Boutique, in Wolverhampton.

Capriena, who completed her Level 1, 2 and 3 at college said: “I had always cut the hair of friends and family and after I had had my children decided to turn my hobby into a career.

“I enrolled at college to learn the technical skills I needed and found the course was excellent.

“The facilities were really good and working in a training salon was very useful as hairdressing is such a hands on job you need that experience. The lecturers were fantastic and they knew their stuff and I can honestly say the course got me where I am today.

“Every day as a hairdresser is different and you get to meet so many people - it’s something I could do forever.”

He said: “The course was really good and the teaching was very thorough. I really appreciate what I learnt and feel the experience had made me the person I am today. “The Academy Hair Salon was especially helpful because it kept you on your toes and gave me a taste of what it would be like to run my own business.

“The tutors really pushed me to do my best and when I think what I was like when I first started at college I have definitely grown up and matured a lot.

“I love hairdressing – it’s grown into a passion and I can’t see myself doing anything else.”
