Qualifications Overview
The college offers NCFE qualifications levels 1- 3, they are primarily aimed at students who are interested in developing their craft skills and creativity.
NPTC City and Guilds Level 2 Floristry diploma (full time/part time). An excellent all-round course for school leavers &/or mature students with an emphasis on the practical floristry skills needed by a trainee florist undertaking day to day tasks. On completion you could progress to level 3.
NPTC City and Guilds Level 3 Floristry diploma (part time). A well balanced course for more experienced florists needing to develop a wider range of intermediate floristry skills and knowledge. The course normally takes 1-2 years to complete. On completion you could progress to level 4. City of Wolverhampton College will be one of only a handful of colleges offering this qualification throughout the country.
Professional Qualifications
NPTC Level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry (HDF) and NPTC Level 5 Master Diploma in Professional Floristry (MDPF)
Within the floristry industry the Society of Floristry’s Intermediate Certificate, (ICSF), and National Diploma (NDSF), qualifications have long been regarded as the pinnacle of any professional florists training. The NDSF in particular is the sign of a professional florist. In 2006 the qualifications were re-launched under new titles: The ICSF has become the NPTC Level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry (HDF), whilst the NDSF has become the NPTC Level 5 Master Diploma in Professional Floristry (MDPF).
