Planting Plan

The planting scheme is a mixture of traditional plants, linked to contemporary plantings. An emphasis is placed on self-sufficiency and there is to be found both vegetable and herb areas alongside ornamental shrub planting.

A Tour of the Garden

You enter at one corner of the garden (a compact square shape) down two steps made from reclaimed Staffordshire blue bricks and old railway sleepers, in front of you is a sunken patio consisting of reclaimed brewery tiles - incoprorating clay mosaic tiles depicting scenes of Wolverhampton's heritage.

Diagonally across the patio area is a raised lean-to gazebo (taking up the opposite corner), with a copper roof and cast iron leg supports. The garden boundary is a red brick wall, rising to just over 2 metres high in parts.

The Right-hand planting area

To your right, in front of the boxed planting area is a stepped rill, with floating rose petals and candles.

The planting area behind the rill, stretches from the entrance steps, round the corner to meet the gazebo and contains a mixture of grasses, shrubs, herbs and fruit, roughly in the following order:

Pennisetum Alopecuroides Hameln 'Dwarf Fountain Grass'
