The College is bringing the current outsourced Payroll service in-house and is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to assist the Payroll Manager in delivering a world class payroll system via a self-service approach and ensure a properly managed payroll service for the College that delivers all College, statutory and third party obligations.
You will be assisting the Payroll Manager on all pay aspects relating to the payment of a circa 1200 employees in a correct and timely manner and contribute to the effective financial management and delivery of the Payroll service. You will also be expected to ensure that the appropriate interactions between the Human Resources system and the Payroll system are managed effectively.
Candidates must be IPP qualified and have experience at a team leader level, in a Payroll function, delivering high quality payroll services through a team for a medium to large organization. An understanding of the Human Resources function and how to maximise a combined HR/Payroll system is essential, as is knowledge and understanding of legislation affecting the payroll environment process. Also essential is the ability to work effectively within time constraints, being well organised with highly developed analytical skills and able to manage systems and budgets.

The role involves working closely with a HR Business Partner to deliver a generalist HR service and provide support in the administration of HR functions.
Duties include assistance in the recruitment and appointment of staff, undertaking administration and update of HR management systems such as payroll, sickness, conditions of service, employee benefits and annual leave. You will provide guidance to managers and employees on HR processes and participate and contribute to HR projects.
Applicants should have Level 3 or equivalent qualification in HR, have good experience and proven track record of giving advice to managers and employees on HR related issues. The ability to use initiative, make decisions and work under pressure often with multiple and conflicting workloads is important as is good verbal and written communication skills. The ability to use a range of IT packages including database is required as well as being highly organised with good time management skills.

You will be a registered Nursing Practitioner with a relevant postgraduate qualification and experience in Occupational Health Nursing; you will also need a good understanding of all legislative requirements and possess excellent communication skills.

Effectively contributing towards the delivery of NVQ qualifications in Health and Social Care you will be required to organise and implement the School of Health Studies NVQ assessment procedures, developing action plans, monitoring, assessing students both in college and the workplace, participating in the internal and external verification processes.
Qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 you should also possess an assessor qualification, A1/A2 and have proven practical experience of working in a relevant vocational setting. You also need to have access to transport to travel between the varied employer sites to assess candidates.

The Fitness Advisor/ Recreation Assistants will provide a key function for the Community Sports Centre. Working under the direction of the Assistant Sports Centre Manager you will deliver a first class level of service. You will prepare and supervise all facilities within the sports centre and ensure acceptable standards of cleanliness. You will also supervise/coach a diverse range of sports to college students, staff and the general public, and ensure that the users of the fitness suite are exercising safely and effectively.
You should be able to demonstrate and evidence successful work in the industry, hold a NVQ Level 2 in Fitness Instructor/Facility Operations or equivalent qualification, coaching qualifications, minimum GCSE‘s in Maths and English (A-C), First Aid Certificate and be able to evidence significant continuous professional development throughout your career.
You will relish working in a varied and demanding environment and be comfortable working with students and the public. You will have good communications skills, be an excellent team worker, flexible and have a good awareness of risk, health and safety. The role is varied and involves working evenings and weekends to meet the needs of our customers. |
