Keep On Learning

Do you know that school isn’t your only option after year 11?

There are lots of options out there for you – and here at City of Wolverhampton College we can help you make the decision that’s right for you.

At 16, you can choose to…

Staying in education means you can gain the qualifications you need to impress future employers and get the job you have always dreamed of.

At City of Wolverhampton we offer a range of courses to set you on your way, from traditional A Levels to more hands-on courses like Motor Vehicle, Engineering, Travel and Sport.

You can learn the skills you need to become a hairdresser, a chef, a travel agent or a football coach and deal with real paying customers in our very own hair and beauty salons, restaurant and and sports centre!

An Apprenticeship is a real job with training so you can earn while you learn and pick up some recognised qualifications as you go. Employers really value Apprenticeships.

They give you recognised skills and are a basis for rapid career progression. You’ll feel the rewards in your pocket too. An average Apprentices’ wage is £170 per week, and people with an Advanced Level Apprenticeship earn, on average, over £100,000 more than those without over the course of their career.

We offer a large Apprenticeship programme and each year help hundreds of Apprentices to enhance their job skills and knowledge in a range of areas, from Accountancy and IT to Construction and Creative.

Getting a job after leaving school is a great next step.

However, the evidence is clear that if you want to work, the best thing for your future is to do some further training or study as well.

As part of the new rules you will be able to work full time if you want to – or volunteer full-time or set up your own business – as long as you also undertake part-time learning.

We offer a range of part-time courses designed to fit in with you, with study options to suit your lifestyle and help you cope with competing demands.

From football coaching and referee courses for the sports enthusiast, to gardening and floristry qualifications for the outdoor lover, we are sure to have a part-time course to help you succeed in your chosen career.
