Zero Cases - Trained Workforce
Mike Dimmack, from Zero Cases, had worked with the Lean Academy on several projects in the past so knew they had a proven track record of success. When the manufacturers of specialised packing cases began looking at the training and development needs of shop floor workers and the management team, Mike approached the Lean Academy for help.
Eight workers on the shop floor were put through the NVQ in Performing Managing Ops while six of the Management team completed the NVQ in Business Improvement Techniques at Levels 2 and 3.
"... we are starting to win new business because we can demonstrate that we have a trained workforce and sales have gone up by around 20 to 30% ..."
Mike said:"The Lean Academy has been very good as a trainer and have meshed very well with our shift patterns."
"The feedback from staff has been excellent and we are now looking to move staff on to the next level of their qualification. We are starting to win new business because we can demonstrate that we have
a trained workforce and sales have gone up by around 20 to 30%. The workforce has become more flexible
and the management team are starting to question the processes involved and look at ways of improving them."
