Craig Wilkinson

Lean Academy Administrator
Qualified to degree level and holds a Higher Diploma in Administrative Procedures. Craig has over 10 years experience of working as an administrator in Further Education College Projects involved with providing Work Based Learning training and qualifications. Has been based at the Lean Academy for 4 years and previously worked at the Centre for Learning in Longbridge (a partnership between MG Rover and Dudley College), which provided training opportunities for apprentices, companies and the Local Community. His role is to provide a professional level of customer service for individuals and companies wishing to contact the Lean Academy for their training requirements.

Richard Herbert

Lean Academy Team Leader
Qualified to HND level, currently studying for a BA in Project Management. Richard has over 25 years experience in industry which has been gained within both operational and management positions. This experience has been gained within local, national and multi national companies, he can demonstrate his extensive experience of making bottom line savings through the delivery of Lean Management and systems change programmes within Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Construction and the Health Service. Richard has achieved financial savings, in excess of £200k within these sectors. Richard is a qualified Lean practitioner, coach and mentor also qualified in Six Sigma and a registered trainer and assessor with both National Skills Academy and the Engineering Awards Limited.

Ken Davies

Team Member
BSc(hon) Env Tech, Cmiosh, Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner, amIFL, PGCE, amIEMA, amIIRSM, DipSM, A and V approved. Ken has 20years experience in managing H&S, the last 10 being involved in delivering a range of courses for the CoWC. Including IOSH, NEBOSH, and Level 4 qualifications and tailored courses. He has worked with a range of blue chip companies including NHS, Wolverhampton Council, Coca Cola, and West Midlands Police Force.

Philip Price

Team Member
Phil has been with the academy since day one and he bought with him over 35 years experience in maintenance and mechanical engineering gained working with some of the largest companies in the West Midlands Phil is an time served apprentice and holds a full Technicians certificate in Engineering process's, Phil has continued his professional development and has recently completed his level 4 qualification in Health and Safety Phil has recently been involved in several major upskilling projects in the West Midlands by delivering bespoke training supported by the NVQ process. He is also involved with several companies supporting their engineering biased continuous improvement activities.

Philip Suddaby

Team Member
Phil is currently employed by the Lean Academy in a training and development role. He has over 10 years experience in high volume manufacturing where he was involved in Continuous Improvement Activities where he can demonstrate savings in excess of £100 000. Phil also successfully operated his own business.

Kevin Reid

Team Member
Kevin has been working with the Lean Academy since 2005 and has overseen and facilitated a number of improvement initiatives within manufacturing environments helping them achieve sustainable process improvements with related cost savings, to the benefit of both the employer and employees. Kevin gained this experience in both operational and management positions during his 25 years within engineering and is able to communicate proficiently at all levels within an organisation to help ensure that maximum benefits to company and individuals are sustainable.

Alicja Borowska

Team Member
Qualified up to degree level in Management, Marketing and Computer Applications Alicja has joined the Lean Academy team in 2008, initially to support work based learning process with her multilingual abilities. Having been involved in the delivery of staff training and development and working closely with candidates' line managers Alicja expanded her knowledge about Lean Manufacturing techniques and over past two years achieved a number of credentials that include awards in Continuous Improvement and Personal Development.

Paul Line

Team Member
Qualified with a Diploma in Management and HNC/Full Tech Cert in Engineering Paul joined the academy in 2006 and has over 25 years experience in industry working at senior management positions, in both manufacturing operations and Business Systems that included blue chip companies such as GKN and Dana Spicer. As a Lean practitioner, Industry Trainer with the Lean Academy he has successfully delivered a number of Business Improvement projects (Including MAS funded initiatives) bringing about significant cost savings that has led to new business for a number of West Midlands based SME's.
