Brush up engineering skills on summer courses

Engineers wanting to improve their qualifications can enrol on two short courses being run by City of Wolverhampton College over the summer.

The college is offering a 12-week Level 3 bridging maths course for those who need to brush up their skills in order to progress to a HNC qualification in engineering, as well as an eight-week personal and professional development module for employees looking to boost their promotion prospects.

The maths course will run every Friday afternoon, 12.30pm-4.30pm, from June 24, with the personal and professional development course being held on Tuesdays, 9am-4pm, from June 21.  The development module is also available on  a distance learning basis for those unable to attend college during the day.

Neil Davies, curriculum manager for engineering at the college, said: “The maths course is focussed on developing advanced skills in order for learners to progress to a HNC in engineering, whilst the professional development module will enable participants to develop a range of skills which will enhance their future career development.”

Both courses will be held at the college’s Paget Road campus in Compton.
