BUDDING HAIRDRESSERS CAN KICKSTART THEIR CAREERS
Budding hairdressers are being offered the opportunity to kickstart their career with a beginners course at City of Wolverhampton College.
The Level 1 Hairdressing Diploma aims to give students the basic skills needed in the hair industry. Students will look at customer service, health and safety, shampoo and conditioning, styling, colouring and reception duties.
The course runs from the college’s Metro One Campus in the city centre, where students will be able to hone their skills in fully equipped training salons and grow in confidence by working with real, paying clients in a commercial salon.
Lynn Parker, head of faculty for hair and beauty at the college, said: “This is a great starter course for anyone thinking about a career in hairdressing and can lead on to higher level courses or an apprenticeship.”
Places are still available for courses starting in September. For more information drop into the college’s Next Steps advice and information sessions at Paget Road Campus on Friday August 19 and Friday August 26 between 10am and 3pm. Book at www.wolvcoll.ac.uk/events/
