COLLEGE ACHIEVES QUALITY STANDARD FOR CAREERS WORK

30th July 2018

City of Wolverhampton College has been recognised for the outstanding careers advice and guidance it provides to its students.

The college has received the national Quality in Careers Standard, awarded under licence by Prospects to schools and education providers that can demonstrate the importance they place on careers and how they support students to make decisions about their life after school.

The college continually works to improve the chances and opportunities of all its students and achieving the standard shows that the governors and leadership team promote and endorse quality careers education and recognise the part it plays in the overall success of the organisation and its students.

To achieve the award the college had to submit over 100 pieces of evidence  demonstrating how it met a series of benchmarks including careers advice, guidance and education, work experience opportunities, equality and diversity, working with parents and carers, and ensuring that students’ voices are heard.

Rose Urkovskis, head of student services at the college, said: “This is fantastic news and shows that the college offers high quality, impartial careers advice and guidance to young people in the city which equips them with the knowledge they need to make decisions about their future learning and career paths.”
