Christmas meals at City of Wolverhampton College’s training restaurant are proving popular with over 500 diners already booked in for the festive treat.

Students studying for catering and hospitality qualifications at the college’s city centre Metro One campus will be serving Christmas lunches and evening meals in the Academy restaurant from Tuesday November 29 until Thursday December 15.

The four-course lunchtime menu costs £15 per person and will be available from Tuesday to Fridays throughout the period, with five-course dinners served on Thursday evenings.

Diners can tuck in to the traditional favourites of turkey and Christmas pudding, as well game terrine, bouillabaisse, stuffed mushrooms or roasted onion soup, lamb shank, salmon supreme, red wine-braised beef or vegetable tagine, and Cointreau and orange crème brulée, Baileys choux crown or sherry trifle.

Heath Arnfield, curriculum manager for catering at the college, said: “Once again our Christmas meals are proving extremely popular, with some people booking a table back in the spring and others wanting to bring large parties of friends and relatives.

“The students are very much looking forward to helping customers get into the festive spirit by dishing up a range of traditional favourites as well as gaining valuable experience of working in a city centre restaurant during one of the busiest periods of the year.”

The popular 46-seater restaurant has a fully-licensed bar and a large viewing window so diners can watch students at work in the kitchen. To book a table call 01902 821431.
