COLLEGE PASS RATES INCREASE DESPITE TOUGHER EXAMS
Students at City of Wolverhampton College are celebrating another great year of GCSE results, despite new tougher exams.
Youngsters at the college achieved a pass rate of 96.9%, up more than 5% on the previous year’s figures, with results for English shooting up by almost 10% to 99.5%.
Vice Principal for Curriculum and Quality Kirk Hookham said: “Despite the major overhaul of the exams this year, with a tougher grading system and more rigorous exams our students really rose to the challenge.
“We are extremely pleased with these results, which come on the back of our best ever A Level results, and I’d like to congratulate all our students on their success and look forward to welcoming them back in September.”
