GEN-UP ON SKILLS AT COLLEGE SHOW
People wanting to find out about skills required by employers and qualifications needed for future careers can learn more at City of Wolverhampton College’s Skills Show at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Wednesday, 18 March.
The event is an opportunity for people to meet local employers, find out about apprenticeships and job opportunities in the city, and get information on college courses that will lead to the qualifications they need for their chosen career.
Visitors will also be able to have a go at a range of work-related activities to give them a taste of the skills they would develop in different industries, including timed wheel change and carpentry challenges, bricklaying, spray painting, computer games testing, music sequencing, 3D modelling, neck massages, nail art and cup cake decoration.
The show will run from 10am to 7pm and is open to people of all ages. Places can be booked online at www.wolvcoll.ac.uk/event/skillsshow and everyone registering will be entered into a free prize draw to win £100 in high street vouchers.
Over 20 organisations will be attending the event to talk about career opportunities, including Bullock Construction Ltd, JLR, Waitrose, Wates Construction Ltd, Wolverhampton Homes and Zaks Hairdressing, along with representatives from the Army, Royal Navy, West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Police.
