Great Gatsby evening

Business brains at City of Wolverhampton College netted over £1000 for charity in a roaring twenties fundraising event.

Three students, who are in the first year of a HNC in business, organised the Great Gatsby evening as part of a Managing a Business Event module of the course and raised £1088 for Cancer Research.

The event – at the college’s Academy Restaurant at the Metro One campus in the city centre – was attended by over 40 guests who tucked-in to 1920s-style food prepared by the college’s cookery and bakery students, and listened to modern songs sung with a twenties twist.

Business tutor Jaki Llewellyn said: “The event was an opportunity for the students to put the planning, communication and teamwork skills they have learnt on the course into practice to organise what was a very lively and enjoyable event.”
