Kind Hearted Students Raise Cash for Charity

Kind hearted students at City of Wolverhampton College have netted over £1,500 for charity through a series of fundraising events.

The Progression to Access to HE students carried out a week of fundraising activities to raise vital funds for a number of charities.

The 10 groups cooked cakes, organised raffles, hiked three miles and set up stalls to raise an impressive £1614.66 for good causes.

The money will go to the Sickle Cell Society, Promise Dreams, the NSPCC, Diabetes UK, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, eating disorder charity Beat and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Tutor Sila Patel said: “This exercise formed part of the students’ team building unit. They all worked really well together and came up with some great ways to raise money.”

The Progression to Access to HE course aims to give students the skills they need to move on to university. For more information ring the college on 01902 836000.
