LOCAL MUSICIANS GET LIVE, LOUD AND LOCAL AT GIG

24th May 2018

Midlands bands will be getting live, loud and local at the Slade Rooms this June, thanks to the support of students from City of Wolverhampton College.

The Music Technology students have organised the gig, which takes place on Friday June 15, as part of their final major project.

Concert goers will be able to enjoy headliners Wolverhampton-based Tinned Astronaut, with support from Suns of Rest, and acoustic acts Matt Sayers and Joe Karchud.

The event, which is now in its seventh year, has been organised by students on the two-year University of Arts London Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production as part of their final assessment and aims to put their skills in live sound engineering, venue logistics, and concert production to the test.

Curriculum Manager Jo Slater said: “This event is a great chance for the students to have put everything they have learnt over the last year into practice. They are responsible for every aspect of the evening and have put a lot of work into creating a fantastic night.”

Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets, costing £6, are available at the door.
