NEW APPRENTICESHIP HUB IS UNVEILED
A new one stop shop helping people across the city make their first steps on the career ladder is to be officially unveiled at City of Wolverhampton College.
The hub will support school leavers, current college students and people already employed and looking to upskill who are deciding on their next steps. Staff will be on hand to give information and advice about apprenticeships, help people find a role that is suitable for them, and talk them through the vacancies available. Applicants will also receive help with their applications and interview techniques.
Principal Claire Boliver said: “Apprenticeships are a great way for students to get into their chosen career, allowing young people to get experience and qualifications up to university level, while still being paid. However, all too often this route is ignored as people are simply not aware of apprenticeships – or how to apply for one.
“Apprenticeships can not only lead to a permanent position within a company – in fact many of our apprentices are offered a job once their training has finished – but can lead on to university, while our higher level apprenticeships give people the advanced level qualifications needed for senior roles without incurring the costs of going to university.
“This hub is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase these great opportunities, providing guidance from expert staff to people across the city and enabling people to make an informed choice about their next step.”
The college works with a huge range of employers – both local and national – to offer apprentices, including the BBC, Express & Star, Moog and City of Wolverhampton Council, and apprenticeship vacancies are regularly available. For more information ring call 01902 837163 or click here
