Pamper days back at college's training academy

A hair cut, beauty treatment and three-course lunch for just £25 are on offer at special pamper days at City of Wolverhampton College’s city centre training academy.

The college has re-launched the popular day packages at its Metro One campus after around 60 people took advantage of the pampering treat last year.

Guests will have their hair cut, conditioned and blow-dried by hairdressing students in the Academy hair salon in the morning, tuck-in to a tasty meal cooked and served by learners studying for catering and hospitality qualifications in the popular Academy restaurant at lunchtime, followed by a relaxing facial or manicure and pedicure carried out by beauty students.

The college launched the pamper days in February 2015 to showcase the skills of students studying for beauty, hairdressing, cookery and hospitality qualifications and give them the experience of working with real customers in a commercial setting.

Lynn Parker, head of faculty for hospitality, hair and beauty at the college, said: “The pamper days proved very popular with both clients and students last year and we are delighted to be able to offer them again.

“The packages enable our students to further develop the skills they are learning on their courses and gain experience of working in a busy hair and beauty salon and restaurant, whilst giving customers the opportunity to indulge in some relaxing treatments and enjoy a delicious lunch at a very reasonable price.”

The day packages are available on Fridays during term time. Places need to be booked in advance by calling the Metro One campus on 01902 821321.
