Pamper days back at college's training academy

A beauty treatment, hair cut and freshly-cooked lunch are among the treats on offer at pre-Christmas pamper days being offered by students at City of Wolverhampton College.

Students studying for qualifications in hairdressing, beauty, cookery and hospitality will be providing the all-in-one packages at the college’s Metro One campus in the city centre on Thursdays until December 15.

Guests will be treated to either a Galvanic facial or Indian head massage in the beauty treatment rooms, tuck-in to a tasty three-course lunch in the Academy restaurant, and have their hair cut, coloured or blow dried in the hair salon.

The pamper days were launched in 2015 to showcase the skills of students and enable them to gain experience of working with clients in a commercial setting, as well as giving local people the chance to benefit from the college’s modern training facilities.

Lynn Parker, head of school for service industries at the college, said: “The days proved extremely popular with clients and students last year and we’re really pleased to be able to offer the packages again, giving students the chance to use their skills to pamper their clients and for customers to relax and unwind before the Christmas rush.”

The day packages costs £30 per person if guests choose one beauty treatment, or £35 to include two treatments.  Places are limited and must be booked in advance by calling the Metro One campus on 01902 821321.
