21st May 2018

People thinking of a career in the creative sector can sign up for short, part-time evening courses starting at City of Wolverhampton College this September.

The college is offering introductory courses in music studio recording, acting and singing, computer games design, social media video production, photoshop, jewellery making, fashion design, pottery, interior design and photography at its Paget Road campus.

Those signing up for the pottery course will learn how to throw, slab, slip cast, coil and model clay and apply surface treatments such as glazing and decoration, while those enrolling on the Photoshop course will pick up a range of new skills to add to their CVs, including cropping, retouching and how to manipulate digital images.

The interior design course is a great start for anyone looking to set up their own design business, introducing students to easy methods for creating stylish interiors including creating mood boards, the power of colour, texture and pattern, and the use of wall coverings, furnishings, lighting and accessories in room designs.

Aspiring jewellers will learn a variety of jewellery making techniques and skills including soldering, shaping, cutting, texturing metal and polishing, while anyone with a flair for performing arts will be able to develop their physical and vocal skills, and explore dramatic text for performance.

Courses run on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm.

For further details, or to enrol on any of the courses, ring 01902 836000.

Alternatively pop in to the open day at Paget Road Campus on Saturday June 9 from 10am to 2pm.
