SHORT CREATIVE COURSES ON OFFER AT COLLEGE
People thinking of a career in the creative sector can sign up for short, part-time evening courses starting at City of Wolverhampton College this September.
The college is offering 12 week introductory courses in Photoshop, jewellery making, pottery, interior design and performing arts at its Paget Road campus from September 12.
Those signing up for the pottery course will learn how to throw, slab, slip cast, coil and model clay and apply surface treatments such as glazing and decoration, while those enrolling on the Photoshop course will pick up a range of new skills to add to their CVs, including cropping, retouching and how to manipulate digital images.
The interior design course is a great start for anyone looking to set up their own design business, introducing students to easy methods for creating stylish interiors including creating mood boards, the power of colour, texture and pattern, and the use of wall coverings, furnishings, lighting and accessories in room designs.
Aspiring jewellers will learn a variety of jewellery making techniques and skills including soldering, shaping, cutting, texturing metal and polishing, while anyone with a flair for performing arts will be able to develop their physical and vocal skills, and explore dramatic text for performance.
Courses are accredited by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body (UAL) and cost £150. They start on September 12 and run every Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm.
