SMOOTHIE BIKE PEDALS ONTO RADIO!
Students at City of Wolverhampton College got in gear on a smoothie-making bike this week and pedalled their way on to the radio!
The smoothie bike – a stationary exercise bike fitted with special blenders that whip up delicious fruit drinks as the rider pedals – was the star attraction at the college’s annual health fair at the Paget Road campus.
Daz Hale, a reporter for BBC Radio WM, joined in the fun and broadcast his smoothie-making journey to listeners of the station’s mid-morning show – watch his efforts below!
He also chatted to Andrea Dill-Russell, director of student services, about the reasons behind the health fair and spoke to Owen Knight, media and events officer for the Students’ Union, for students’ views on the event.
Listen to the interviews here – scroll to 2hours 15 minutes for the interview with Andrea Dill Russell, and 2 hours 48 minutes to hear from Owen and what Daz had to say about making his smoothie.
The health fair will also take place at the Wellington Road campus in Bilston on Thursday January 14.
