STUDENTS ATTEND WOLVERHAMPTON FILM PREMIERE
Students from City of Wolverhampton College took to the red carpet and rubbed shoulders with the stars of a new BBC film at its premiere last week.
The group of 10 students, who are studying for diplomas in creative media production, attended a showing of The Boy with the Topknot, written by journalist Sathnam Sanghera about his experiences of growing up in Wolverhampton.
The following day the students attended a masterclass at the BBC and were filmed asking questions of Sanghera, director Lynsey Miller and producer Nisha Parti, by the BBC Academy, the corporation’s centre for training.
Greg Spruce, curriculum manager for media, games and photography at the college, said: “Attending the premiere and taking part in the masterclass was a fantastic opportunity for our students and gave them the chance to hear firsthand how an idea can be developed into a story and how, in turn, it can be brought to life on screen.”
