Music lovers will be able to enjoy the best of the region’s talent at an event being held in Wolverhampton this June.

The ‘Live, Loud and Local’ event, which takes place at The Slade Rooms on Friday 12 June, will feature performers Carbon Copy, Aiden Best, Jow Lakin and Faith.

Headliners Carbon Copy are a newly formed band from Wolverhampton, covering rock and indie songs by bands such as The Cult, Foo Fighters and Stereophonics.

The event, which has been running for four years, has been organised by students on the BTEC Level 3 Music Technology Extended Diploma course at City of Wolverhampton College as part of their studies.

The class have worked together to plan and organise the event which forms part of their final assessment and gives them the opportunity to put the skills they have learnt on the course – from live sound engineering, venue logistics, and concert production and staging to event management, marketing and promotion – to the test.

Doors open at 7.30pm with the first performance at 8pm.

Tickets cost £5, or £4 with a college ID badge, and are available from Midland Box Office, the college’s music technology department on the Paget Road campus, or at the Paget Road campus reception.
