STUDENTS PICK UP TIPS FROM BBC INDUSTRY EXPERTS

8th March 2018

Music and Media students found out how to make their mark on the industry when they were visited by BBC Industry experts.

Around 40 students from City of Wolverhampton College heard from the team of talent behind radio presenters and shows as part of the run up to BBC Asian Network Live, which takes place in Birmingham on March 10.

They were able to put their questions to a panel of guests that included BBC Asian Network DJ Bobby Friction as well as well as members from the production and music team.

Students found out how to put together a great line up and make music into a business. They also found out about the wide range of careers available in the industry and picked up some advice on how to write a great CV and impress at interview.

Curriculum Manager & Lecturer Greg Spruce said: “We’re delighted that the BBC have come in today to share their advice and top tips for making it in the media.

“Sessions like these are invaluable for our students, and give them a taste of what it’s really like behind the mic, as well as how to get their foot in the door of what is a very competitive industry.”
