Prince's Trust students created a mural at the Children's Village

Students from City of Wolverhampton College will be unveiling their artwork at a Wednesfield Children’s Centre this Friday.

The group of seven students, who are all on a 12 week Prince’s Trust self development programme, spent a fortnight at The Children’s Village, Graisley Lane, brightening up the playground for youngsters who use the centre.

The team completed a mural with a colourful beach scene and created an inviting welcome board. They also built a chalk board, Jigsaw puzzle and sensory touch boxes.

The group raised the £310 needed for the project by completing a triathlon over 50 miles and taking part in bag packs at local supermarkets.

Team Leader Jo Lewis said: “The team have worked well on this project and have enjoyed completing the work. We would like to thank the Children’s Village for letting us complete the work and for accommodating us.

The Prince’s Trust Team programme gives unemployed young people aged 16 to 25 the chance to learn new skills and improve their confidence and self-esteem through a range of outdoor activities, community work and work experience.
