SUCCESSFUL HAIRDRESSING SCHEME ON HUNT FOR BUDDING STYLISTS!
One of the country’s largest hairdressing training schemes is on the hunt for budding stylists to join its programme.
City of Wolverhampton College, which works with more than 270 salons to help train staff, currently has a number of hairdressing apprenticeship vacancies across the region.
A total of 25 apprenticeship vacancies are available, including those in Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Telford and Walsall.
The successful applicants will not only gain their NVQ in hairdressing but also earn a wage and gain experience by working alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills in a salon.
The apprentices will work four to five days a week in the salon, and attend one of the college’s three state-of-the-art training salons in Wolverhampton, Telford or Worcester once a week to learn new techniques and attend theory lessons.
Director of Employment Skills & Commercial Delivery Georgina Parker said: “We run an incredibly successful hairdressing apprenticeship scheme, which was praised for its high standard by Ofsted inspectors recently, and currently train more than 300 apprentices who are working in salons.
“The programme is a great way to get into the industry and for the majority of salons it is their chosen way of recruiting new staff – and with many of our former apprentices now owning their own salons and picking up awards for their work it really does give your career a flying start!”
