SUCCESSFUL HAIRDRESSING SCHEME ON HUNT FOR BUDDING STYLISTS!

Hair Apprentice vacancies

One of the country’s largest hairdressing training schemes is on the hunt for budding stylists to join its programme.

City of Wolverhampton College, which works with more than 270 salons to help train staff, currently has a number of hairdressing apprenticeship vacancies across Wolverhampton and beyond.

More than 25 apprenticeship vacancies are currently available in Worcestershire, Shropshire and the West Midlands.

The successful applicants will not only gain their NVQ in hairdressing but also earn a wage and gain experience by working alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills in a salon.

The apprentices will work four to five days a week in the salon, and attend one of the college’s state-of-the-art training salons in Wolverhampton, Telford or Worcester once a week to learn new techniques and attend theory lessons.

Work Based Learning Manager Sue Cole said: “An apprenticeship is a fantastic way to get into the hair industry, and for many salons it is the main way they recruit new staff.

“By learning on the job, hairdressing apprentices are able to gain valuable work experience, working with real clients and doing a real job – all while picking up the qualifications they need to move on.”
