Haggis with a whiskey sauce and traditional Scottish desserts are among the delights on offer at a Burns Night supper at City of Wolverhampton College’s training restaurant later this month.

Students studying for hospitality and catering qualifications at the college’s Metro One campus in the city centre will be dishing up the tasty three-course feast in the Academy restaurant on Thursday 26 January.

Diners will start with a choice of potted hough (a savoury beef jelly), herrings in oats, or mussel bree, followed by either haggis, beef in red wine or chicken in a Drambuie sauce, and round off their meal with cranachan cheesecake, Burns creams or caramel shortbread.

The meal costs £12 per head and tables are available from 6.30pm with last orders at 7pm.  To book call the Academy restaurant on 01902 821431.

Burns Night celebrates the life and work of the Scottish poet Robbie Burns who was born on January 25, 1759.
