Investigating a crime scene, helping to build a mini house and decorating hundreds of cupcakes are just some of the fun activities on offer at a major Skills and Apprenticeship Show, organised by City of Wolverhampton College, at Wolverhampton Racecourse next Tuesday, March 27.

Around 1300 pupils from 20 local schools will be attending the interactive event to meet employers and have a go at a range of activities to give them a taste of the skills they would learn on different college courses, including wheel change, plumbing and fitness challenges, making metal key rings, spray painting, computer aided design, 3D animation, computer games testing, music sequencing, hair styling, neck massages and nail art.

The visitors will also get the chance to find out about career opportunities in a wide range of industries, learn about apprenticeships and jobs with training, and talk to college tutors about the qualifications needed for their future careers.

Over 40 organisations will be exhibiting at the event including the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Army Reserves, West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Midlands Polices, as well as Barclays Bank, City of Wolverhampton Council, Express and Star, Lloyds Banking Group, Midland Metro Alliance, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and the University of Wolverhampton.

Members of the public interested in finding out about apprenticeship vacancies with local employers are welcome to attend the event from 4pm to 7pm and can book a free place by clicking here
