WESTON PARK’S HEAD CHEF DISHES UP TRAINING TO COOKERY STUDENTS
Cookery students at City of Wolverhampton College will be getting expert tips from a top industry chef at a masterclass on Thursday (October 1).
Guy Day – head chef at Weston Park in Shropshire – will be demonstrating his culinary skills and techniques to students studying for the Level 3 diploma in professional cookery at the college’s Metro One campus in the city centre.
During the session Guy will be cooking breast of duck with potato fondant, creamed savoy cabbage and a port and pepper sauce – which the trainee chefs will get to sample – and they will then each prepare the same dish, following which he will give feedback on cookery skills, presentation and taste to each student.
Heath Arnfield, curriculum manager for catering at the college, said: “The students are really looking forward to Guy’s visit and gaining some culinary tips and advice on their future careers from an industry professional.”
